Dr. Bill E. Field, Professor

Project Director

William E. Field, Ed.D, has been a professor since 1977 in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University and is an Extension Safety Specialist for Purdue’s Cooperative Extension Service. He has conducted training nationwide and internationally on safety, health, and emergency management-related issues.

Dr. Mahmoud Nour, Ph.D.

Post-Doctoral Researcher (Agricultural & Industrial Safety & Health)

Dr. Nour conducts research on agricultural injury surveillance programs, including the Purdue Agricultural Confined Space Database. His research focuses on reducing injuries and fatalities in agricultural workplaces by studying all related hazards and causative factors of injury risks in depth and disseminating that information to extension and safety professionals. He has developed a standard process of identifying, documenting, and categorizing injuries and fatalities in agricultural workplaces in the U.S.

Ed Sheldon

Staff Member at Purdue University Agricultural Safety & Health Program

Ed Sheldon has extensive agricultural and educational experience, having served as a county Purdue Extension agricultural educator and as a senior staff member of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. Mr. Sheldon also owned and operated a landscape contracting business for 15 years, and continues to maintain close ties with the agricultural community.

Charlene Cheng, Ph.D.

Safety and Health Consultant

Charlene Cheng, Ph.D., specializes in public health, occupational safety management, and agricultural health & safety. She is able to conduct professional research in the following areas: agricultural safety, curriculum development, injury prevention, environmental health, occupational safety, health promotion, and data analysis.

Roger Tormoehlen, Ph.D.

Professor, Agricultural & Biological Engineering

Dr. Tormoehlen is an Agricultural & Biological Engineering professor focused on Agricultural Systems, Safety, and Health. Dr. Tormoehlen currently serves as the administrative leader for the department of Agriculture & Biological Engineering.

Joseph Price, MS

Web Developer

Joseph Price is a strategic web and communications designer with a passion for understanding human behavior, creative design, and telling the 'greatest' story. Joseph has a Master of Science degree from Purdue University with a focus in User Experience, Persuasive Design, and Ethics.
